What payment options can I use at UW dining locations?

Our dining locations accept all major credit cards, prepaid gift cards, and the Wiscard. Learn more about paying for food on campus using the Wiscard and meal plans.

Wiscard account

Wiscard, the official UW–Madison identification card provided to all students, faculty, and staff, is a convenient, flexible, and safe way to pay for purchases. It can be used at any campus location accepting Wiscard for food, groceries, and more. Plus, Wiscard users receive a 5 percent discount on dining.

Dining Dollars

Dining Dollars are available to Housing residents through the Wiscard as part of their dining plan and can be used for food purchases at any Housing or Union dining location. Think of Dining Dollars like cash on a debit card.

Housing meal plans

All Housing residents select a dining plan that includes a designated number of meals per week — 10, 14, or unlimited. Meals are available at Housing dining markets or through the Meal Exchange Program.

Union Flex Dining Plan

The Union Flex Dining Plan is designed for students living off campus, outside of the UW–Madison residence halls. The plan offers flexibility to eat at any Wisconsin Union and University Housing dining location, as well as at Babcock Hall Dairy Store.
